Amadeus and NVIDIA have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deepen their collaboration and accelerate exploration of how accelerated computing and travel-specific AI could support faster, more scalable, and more efficient flight search. The partnership builds on earlier technical assessments and benchmarking activities conducted on NVIDIA Hopper and Blackwell platforms, which are designed for AI and high-performance computing workloads.

The collaboration aims to address the growing complexity and volume of travel search requests driven by AI assistants, which are increasingly handling queries on behalf of travelers. Amadeus has already used NVIDIA CUDA to adapt part of its flight-search process, enabling parallel GPU computations that could improve response times and scalability. Early tests demonstrated promising potential, and the companies plan to evaluate these approaches across a broader range of travel-search workloads.

The MoU outlines three key areas of exploration. First, Amadeus and NVIDIA will investigate how GPU and CPU technologies can optimize flight-search performance. Second, the companies will assess the potential of developing travel-specific foundation models, in collaboration with other industry actors, to enhance the performance of existing travel-specific models. Finally, they will examine cloud and infrastructure efficiencies to support the growing demands of AI-enabled travel, including new approaches to cloud resource planning and workload optimization.

For travelers, the work focuses on delivering flight options quickly while maintaining accuracy and bookability—critical factors as AI-driven search complexity increases. For travel sellers, the collaboration explores how search systems can evolve to handle more complex requests while remaining scalable for the rapid growth in AI-powered search traffic.

Lutz Vorneweg, SVP Strategic Partners at Amadeus, said: “As AI transforms the travel ecosystem, maintaining fast, accurate and bookable flight search at global scale requires new approaches. As the neutral execution layer that orchestrates connections between travel providers, sellers and digital assistants, we are excited to work with NVIDIA to explore how accelerated computing and AI technologies can help power the next generation of travel search.” David Hogan, Vice President of Enterprise EMEA at NVIDIA, said: “AI is unlocking new possibilities across travel, from more intelligent search to emerging uses of AI assistants, and creating new demands on computing infrastructure. Our collaboration with Amadeus combines NVIDIA accelerated computing and AI with deep travel expertise to explore faster, more efficient flight search at global scale.”
