Vietjet and Satair signed an MOU in Copenhagen.

Vietjet and Satair, an Airbus Services company, have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to deepen their cooperation across the aviation supply chain. The ceremony took place in Copenhagen during the Vietnam–Denmark Business Forum, with high-ranking officials from both countries in attendance.

The agreement marks a new milestone in the partnership between the two companies, connecting Satair’s global aviation supply and services capabilities with Vietjet’s growing demand for fleet expansion and technical infrastructure development.

Expanded Cooperation

Building upon the success of the existing Integrated Material Services (IMS) program, the strategic agreement sets out a framework to explore expanded material solutions, digital optimization, and operational resilience. The IMS program has been supporting the carrier’s growing Airbus fleet.

Under the MOU, both organizations intend to establish a Joint Working Group to evaluate potential cooperation across six areas, including expansion of Integrated Material Services, Long Thanh Aviation Hub Development, and Aircraft Lifecycle and Circularity Solutions.

Key Areas of Cooperation

The Joint Working Group will explore solutions such as consignment capabilities, material support, and aviation logistics at Long Thanh International Airport. They will also look into used serviceable material, component repair and exchange services, and surplus inventory management to enhance lifecycle economics and supply chain sustainability.

Data analytics and digital integration will also be leveraged to enhance material visibility and optimize fleet maintenance workflows. Additionally, the partnership will strengthen Aircraft-On-Ground (AOG) response mechanisms, regional stock positioning, and emergency logistics coordination.

Benefits and Expectations

Vietjet Chief Executive Officer Nguyen Thanh Son said that a proactive and efficient supply chain is fundamental to Vietjet’s fleet development and international network expansion. The partnership with the firm will enable the airline to leverage Airbus’ global expertise and supply chain capabilities to enhance operational and maintenance efficiency.

Richard Stoddart, Chief Executive Officer of the firm, noted that the Memorandum of Understanding marks a significant milestone in the evolving partnership with the carrier. By building upon the established Integrated Material Services foundation, the company looks forward to supporting the carrier’s fleet growth and developing scalable, sustainable, and data-driven supply chain solutions.

For Indian travelers, the carrier offers convenient access to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, as well as onward connections across Asia, Australia, and Europe. As the airline expands its international network, the partnership supports the airline’s focus on operational efficiency and reliable services for travelers across the region.
